Facilities

The Department of Forest Products and Paper Science is equipped with teaching laboratories of key importance which includes facilities for wood anatomy and identification, wood chemistry and pulp and paper technology, bioenergy, and general machining workshop. The department possesses its own research infrastructure in biomass pelletizer as well as a museum where bamboo products are displayed. The above facilities are available for the conduct of externally funded research as well as for thesis experiments of undergraduate students of BS Forestry and BS Chemical Engineering (Major in Pulp and Paper Technology) and graduate students in MS and PhD programs.

Wood Library

This is a facility where different species of local and foreign wood samples are kept and maintained by a laboratory technician. Wood samples are sorted accordingly and are available for use by students. A completely filled up borrowing slip and UP ID should be presented before using the facility. The wood library supports research in cultural heritage preservation by its wide array of wood collection and its skilled personnel
